Bad Links? | City sits on name change until questions resolved By JOHN THOMPSON The 663-home subdivision on Rockaway Road in Senoia will have to wait a little longer before its new name is official. Last week, the Senoia City Council tabled a request from Twin Lakes developers to rename the subdivision Heritage Pointe. The chief point of contention surrounds the number of homeowners associations involved in the development. City administrator Richard Ferry told the City Council the developers had agreed to let the homeowners in the current phases of Twin Lakes use the amenities at the yet-unbuilt Heritage Pointe phase. They can have a recreational membership for $250 a year that allows them to use the tennis courts, swimming pool, clubhouse and trails, Ferry said. He expected the facilities to be ready in 2007, but what remained unclear was how many homeowners associations would be governing the subdivision. The original Twin Lakes had a homeowners association that was never active, until homeowners learned that a meeting was called for this week. There is also a second phase under development, with Heritage Pointe being the final phase. Several homeowners attended the meeting and expressed confusion and outrage over the situation. This is not what we agreed to, said resident Jeff Fischer. The homeowners that they would be part of the new larger homeowners association, instead of just being able to have a recreation membership. With confusion swirling about the issue, Councilman Robert Belisle moved for the issue to be tabled. There are just too many questions that need to be answered, he said. The City Council agreed to address the name change after all the questions were answered to their satisfaction.
