Bad Links? | Great action at Senoia last weekendStan Barge waited patiently when the green flag waved for the start of the 50 lap special feature for the Modified Street Stock event Saturday night at Senoia Speedway while John Holder and Jim DeGraff battled for the lead. As the field began to sort out by lap 10, Barge began making his run for the front by passing his follow competitors one-by-one. On lap five, Barge had a clear view of the speedway as he made the pass for the lead and never looked back. DeGraff and Donnie Jones battled for second place honors while Richard Blume continued to pressure the two for position. Sammy Short began to make a run for the front and occupied the third place position when his machine began to smoke heavily on lap 27 coming to rest in turn four. Short was quickly assisted from the smoking machine by speedway officials. Barge continued to remain the race leader and went on to take the win, followed by: Jim DeGraff, Richard Blume, Donnie Jones, John Holder and Sammy Short. In the Bandolero 15 lap feature, Joshua Crawley jumped out to an early lead while Kyle Kitchens and Corey Hart battled for second place position. By lap 9, Hart had seccessfully made the pass for second and began to focus on chasing down Crawley. On lap 12, caution was displayed on the speedway as Kitchens was involved in an incident in turn four as a steady light rain fell on the speedway. When the field took the green flag and came up to speed, all machine spun out as they entered turn three causing speedway official to call the race on lap 12 due to wet speedway surface conditions with the safety of the drivers first priority. Joshua Crawley took the win, followed by: Hart, Currie Pierce, Kayla Medley and Kyle Kitchens. Doug Ludwig continues to be the man to beat in the Pro Legends Division as he took the win in the 25 lap feature. Terry Mathis continues to show the way in the Pro Challenge Division, while on this occasion, Tim Hansard made an impressive run as the early leader of the event, while Kyle Mitchell and Bre Sharp continue to demonstrate that they can win in this division. Another Pro Challenge driver, Trent Mayo, also had a fast machine on this occasion until he was involved in an incident on lap 12 in turn two which resulted in damage to his machine. Mayo reported to the pits for repair and returned to the speedway and battled back for a fifth place finish. Jarad Lovett made an impressive run in the Sportsman 25 lap feature to take the win while Mike Davidson took top honors in the Iceman 25 lap feature. |
