Bad Links? | Lightning make the 2005 WBA playoffsThe Southern Crescent Lightning have made the WBA playoffs and have once again earned a first round bye. They opened the 2005 playoffs with a game against the Cleveland Majic after the paper went to press. If they won, they will play in the semi-finals tonight at 6 p.m. for a chance to play in the finals tomorrow at 8 p.m. The Lightning finished the season with an overall record of 16-8, earning records of 8-4 both at home and away. They had a six game winning streak going before dropping three of their last four games. The Lightning were averaging 108.74 points per game. The Championship weekend will take place tonight and tomorrow at Shorter College in Rome, Ga. and wil feature halftime performances from Cheertyme as well as a clinic and game between the Harlem Globetrotters Legends and the 100 Black men of Rome, Progressive Romans. The WBA Championship Weekend will also host a street ball tournament for local athletes, clinics for the youth with Harlem Globetrotters Legends and autograph session with WBA team members. We are extremely excited to be in Rome and celebrating a second year of continued success, said Leroy McMath, President and Founder of the WBA.
