Bad Links? | Fairfield getting new neighborsBy JOHN MUNFORD The conceptual plan for the new Delta Employees Credit Union was approved unanimously by the Peachtree City Planning Commission Monday night. The site, located at the intersection of Ga. Highway 74 and Wisdom Road adjacent to Dalton West Carpets, is 4.04 acres and will host a 39,000 sq. ft. building. The building will be separated with a three-story structure on one side and a two-story structure on the other, but they will be connected by a three-story atrium. The site is located adjacent to The Fairfield subdivision, and a verbal commitment was made to insure that the dumpsters for the buildings werent serviced in the wee hours of the morning. The developer also has agreed to avoid housing a restaurant on the site and to restrict the hours of public operation from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Employees will still have access to the building at all times. The commission also approved the only other item on its agenda: a two story office building on Park Place in the Kedron Village The 9,000 sq. ft. building will be in the Whitlock subdivision, located next to Kedron Village Dental. The one-acre parcel also abuts The Fairfield subdivision on two sides, so a 50-foot buffer will be installed for screening. Among the conditions placed on the approval is modification of the sites detention pond to keep water from bypassing the pond and flooding neighboring lots. Also, the site lighting plan must be approved prior to installation of the lights.
