Bad Links? | Restaurant delay could end mid-Aug. By JOHN MUNFORD Salivating minds want to know: When in the world is the Three Dollar Cafe going to open in Peachtree City? Company representatives told The Citizen Thursday that they hope to open mid- to late-August after the building is completed. The months-long delay has been due to shifting from a lease arrangement to actually purchasing the building, said Eric English of English Cornell, the company that will run the restaurant. We are very excited about coming down there, English said. Its a great location. English said the Peachteee City location will join one on the northside but the one here will be the crown jewel. John Barrow, who owns the building, said earlier this week that the rent has been paid on the facility for the past eight months at $17,000 a month. The delay of opening the restaurant has been so lengthy that the company had to re-apply for its alcohol serving license after its first one expired, city officials noted last week. The restaurant will be located in the Barrow retail center on Ga. Highway 74 near Wisdom Road, which also hosts the Hangar 74 bar and Mellow Mushroom.
