Westmoreland appointed new pastor at FFUMC Bishop Lindsey Davis of the North Georgia United Methodist Conference has appointed the Rev. Mark Westmoreland as the new minister at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Westmoreland replaces the Rev. Tom Pilgrim who will move to Tucker First United Methodist Church. Westmoreland formerly was pastor of Embry Hills United Methodist Church in Atlanta and is a former editor of Georgias United Methodist newspaper, The Wesleyan Christian Advocate.
Grantville will host gospel singing this weekend This months free gospel singings at Grantville are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, June 24 and 25, beginning at 7 p.m. at the old Grantville Freight Depot. Fridays featured groups will be the Shadrix Trio from Whitesburg, Marie Bulloch from Warm Springs, Eloise Maddox from LaGrange and the Christian Crusaders from Sharpsburg. Saturdays performance will feature TriCities from Ranburne, Ala., and the Good News Trio from LaGrange. The depot is adjacent to Colley Park on Main Street in Grantville. FamJam scheduled at Vineyard Community Vineyard Community Church will host a free FamJam Thursday, June 30, at 7 p.m., offering a creative, family-focused worship event with a western theme. Old western adventure games, pony rides, bungee bull rides, hayrides and the Chuck Wagon Cafe will provide activities, entertainment and food. The church is on Johnson Avenue in Fayetteville. FFUMC to offer MAD camp The Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will offer MAD Camp, a Music, Arts and Discovery Adventure for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade, Monday, July 11 through Friday, July 15, from 9 a.m. until noon at the church.
