Bad Links? | Bloodmobile at Brusters SaturdayBrusters Ice Cream in Peachtree City is offering a cool incentive to anyone who donates blood Saturday at the American Red Cross bloodmobile, which will be at the store from 2-7 p.m. Each participant will get a coupon for 50 cents off any item for helping stave off the difficult summer months when blood donations typically drop. This phenomenon is largely due to people going on vacation, and the lack of blood drives at schools which are out for the summer. Schools routinely account for about 20 percent of blood donations, officials said. Most healthy people age 17 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood. The entire process takes about an hour from registration to refreshments, but the actual donation takes between six and 12 minutes. For more information on this drive or to find out about other drives in the area, call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or log on to www.givelife.org. Brusters is located in the Lexington Circle shopping center in Peachtree City.
