Bad Links? | Locals make mark in opening week of Thursday ThunderThe opening night of Atlanta Motor Speedways Thursday Thunder put on an exciting show for the fans with several first time winners in their series, a protested win and lots of action on the track. The night started off with the Atlanta Dental Team Bandits feature race. After several caution periods the race finally got underway. A winner was declared, however the winning drivers motor was protested, so results cannot be released until the protest is resolved. Locals who finished well were: Tina Johnson, Senoia, 14th in Semi-Pro; Ed Clark, Peachtree City, 12th in Tanger Outlet Center Masters and 4th in Roadsters; Trey Maughan, Fayetteville, 3rd in Outlaws; Josh Fulson, Brooks, 6th in Rhino Video Games Chargers; Phillip Bell, Senoia, 8th in Rhino Video Games Chargers. Atlanta Motor Speedways Thursday Thunder will return next week for the second of 10 weeks of Legends, Bandolero and Roadster racing. Please note, due to the rainout last week, Thursday Thunder has been extended to August 11. Next week, dont miss Rhubarbs Walk Across Georgia night sponsored by Papa Johns Pizza and presented by Eagle 106.7 FM. Help Rhubarb raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
