Bad Links? | Comm. OKs retail planBy BEN NELMS Development plans were approved recently by Fayetteville Planning & Zoning Commission for the Brandywine Corners retail center, to be located on the northeast corner of Ga. Highway 54 West and Brandywine Boulevard. Situated on 2.15 acres, plans for the building include a 2,500 square-foot restaurant and 14,700 square feet of retail space, said city Planning & Zoning Director Jahnee Prince. Specific businesses to be located at the center have not been determined at this time. Situated on adjacent property immediately to the east of the development is the new 29,000 square-foot, Southern Community Bank, now under construction. The two-story building is situated on 2.69 acres. Also under construction just across Brandywine Boulevard, situated on 1.8 acres, is a 17,500-square-foot retail center. Brandywine Corners will front Hwy. 54 but access to the center will be from Brandywine Boulevard and will share a driveway with Southern Community Bank. Fayetteville Planning & Zoning Commission meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. All meetings are open to the public. Prince encouraged residents to attend the meetings to get a firsthand view of the commissions planning and zoning process. |
