Good crowd reported at Associate ShowcaseThe Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia had both a large group of participants and a steady flow of views at the organizations Associate Showcase, held at the Kiwanis Fair Complex in Fayette County. The event, which was formerly known as Table Top Night, enables association members to be able to obtain information on the latest in building products, discover how to save money on future projects, and network with others in their industry. Associate members have the opportunity to promote their products and services. Patricipants in the latest showcse included 20 South Magazine; 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty; A & L Cabinets; All Seasons Heating & Air; Alley Cassetty Brick; Andersen Windows & Doors; Arrow Exterminators; B & P Iron Company; Bank of America; Bank of Georgia; Blake Builders Supply; Builders Insurance/J. Smith Lanier; Carapace LLC; Central Builders Supply; Cherokee Pumping; Coweta-Fayette EMC; Donaghue & Chandler; Elite Countertops; Fairburn Ready Mix; Floor Coverings International; Floorco; Gas Inc.; General Lee Properties; Graphic Signs; Grill Works; Kitchens Etc.; McCalla, Raymet, Padrick, Cobb, Nichols & Clark; Mid South Security Systems; Midwest Georgia Inspectors Association; North Georgia Brick; Plymart; Robert Bowden Inc.; Roofing Supply of Atlanta; Synovus; TCIS; Waldrop & Trite; West Georgia Industries Inc.; and Williams Brothers Lumber. Blake Builders Supply offered the events largest door prize ever, $2,000 off on a framing package that includes a floor by TrimStar. The lucky winners were Phil Edwards and Dwayne Thorne with Showcase Homes and Remodeling. The meeting was also a St. Patricks Day observance since it was held on that day. Food was provided by Speedi Pig Barbecue. Other events that night included Crab Races, an association fund raiser where painted and numbered hermit crabs purchased by attendees competed in a series of races to determine first, second and third places, plus a Builder Auction, where bidders, including associate members who do business with the local building community, were able to compete for the opportunity to take a participating builder to lunch. The Crab Race winners were entries from Lang Thompson, Fairburn Ready Mix, first place; Gloria Daniel and Cheryl Jones, Atlanta Gas Light, second place; and Lonnie Williams 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, third place. The Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia serves builders in Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Meriwether, Heard, Pike, Upson, Lamar, Butts and Jasper counties.
