PruGeorgia honored for Sunshine Kids contribution

Prudential Georgia Realty, a company based in metro Atlanta for 42 years, has long been an advocate of local and national causes. Whether it's assisting with funds to fight breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the Tsunami Relief Fund, Habitat for Humanity or helping to lift the spirits of military personnel stationed overseas during the holidays, the employees and sales associates of Prudential Georgia Realty have gladly lent a hand.

Children’s causes are especially near and dear to the heart of company president and CEO Dan Forsman who, himself, has four children. To that end, Prudential Georgia Realty holds an annual Backpack Challenge to assist under-privileged children in metro Atlanta. Some 300 filled backpacks are collected each year and distributed before the start of school. In addition, Prudential Georgia Realty has wholeheartedly embraced the Sunshine Kids Foundation, an organization which assists children with cancer.

The official charity of Prudential Real Estate Affiliates, Prudential Georgia Realty was named the seventh highest contributor for 2004 out of more than 600 Prudential affiliates. The Sunshine Kids Foundation recognized and honored the top companies at PREA's annual convention in Las Vegas this Spring. Prudential Georgia Realty, thanks to the help of its sales associates, raised $72,000 for Sunshine Kids in 2004.

"Sunshine Kids is such a necessary charity for sick children that I have already challenged our 20 branch offices to collectively raise at least $100,000 in 2005," said Dan Forsman. "And our offices are rising to the occasion. One branch is staging a series of six horse shows in the Alpharetta area to raise funds and awareness for the Sunshine Kids Foundation."
