Bad Links? | Brown joins Booth firmAuthor and publisher Fred Brown has joined Jimmy Booth Public Relations effective June 1, announced Jimmy Booth, founder and president of the Peachtree City-based company. Brown is the founding publisher and editor of Brown's Guide to Georgia magazine. He is the editor, author or co-author of 12 books including The Georgia Conservancy's Guide to the North Georgia Mountains (Longstreet), The Unofficial Guide to Atlanta (Macmillan) and The Best of Georgia Farms Cookbook and Tour Book (CI Publishing). He was named Atlanta Press Club "Author of the Year" in 1997 for his work on The Riverkeeper's Guide to the Chattahoochee. That same year, a cover story in Georgia Trend magazine characterized him as "The Man Who Discovered Georgia" for his work publicizing recreational opportunities in Georgia and the Southeast. "Fred has a special talent for identifying unique editorial opportunities and leveraging them through various media so that the information reaches the widest possible audience," Booth said. Booth, a longtime Atlanta area journalist and public relations consultant, founded Jimmy Booth Public Relations in 1989. The firm specializes in working with real estate companies, developers and builders. Clients include some of the leading home building, development, real estate, and remodeling companies in the Atlanta Metro and Central Georgia areas. "With Fred coming on board," Booth said, "our mutual goal is to expand our client base and offer more services to present clients."
