Bad Links? | Lightning win close one against KnightsBy MICHAEL BOYLAN It often takes a solid effort for four full quarters to win a basketball game. The Southern Crescent Lightning played decent in three of the four quarters in Wednesday nights home game against the Gainesville Knights and played outstanding in the third quarter to take a 79-70 lead heading into the fourth quarter and help lead the way to a 107-104 win. Marcus Taylor led the team in scoring with 32 points with Bobby Brown scoring 26 points and Jimmy Baxter adding 19 points. The win gave the Lightning an edge over the Knights this season, 3-2. They will take on the Knights again on Saturday, which will be Pizza Party Night. Every ticket holder will also receive a free slice of pizza and Ariana, a local rock band and recent winners of the Battle of the Bands competition will perform at halftime and after the game. The home stand will come to an end on Sunday with a game against the Macon Blaze at 2 p.m. Sundays game will be Scout Day and all kids wearing a piece of their scout uniform will get $2 off the $6 admission. |
