Bad Links? | Charges dropped against ex-mayor By JOHN THOMPSON It took all of two minutes for the latest political squabble in Senoia to be resolved in City Court Monday afternoon. Charges were dropped against former Senoia mayor Dianne Cleveland in a disorderly conduct charge arising from an April 6 incident. Resident Joe Brogdon took out an arrest warrant April 6 against former Mayor Dianne Cleveland for disorderly conduct and said that she had called him names on property that he and business partner Perry Benson own. An unusual twist in the case is that Brogdon and his business partner Perry Benson were two of the prime movers and shakers that tried to help get Cleveland re-elected as mayor two elections ago. As part of the dismissal of charges, Cleveland was ordered to stay off of the property and away from Brogdon. Cleveland was in the process of taking out a warrant in magistrate court against Brogdon, but also agreed to drop that case. |
