Christ the King Church to host CECs 2005 ConvocationFollowing two auditions, Fayettes own Christian music group, Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg will host the 2005 Convocation of the Diocese of Georgia June 1-3. The annual meeting, which includes both clergy and laity, is open to the public and will feature the Most Rev. John W. Holloway as the keynote speaker. Holloway, who was formerly a United Methodist minister and a pastor in independent charismatic churches, is bishop of the Diocese of Georgia and serves as auxiliary bishop to middle and eastern Tennessee. He also is the founder and rector of the Cathedral of St. Michael and All Angels in Thomaston. Members of the Bishops Council of the Diocese of Georgia also will share in teaching, especially in the morning sessions. The convocation will begin Wednesday, June 1, at 7 p.m. Morning sessions begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday and Friday with evening sessions beginning at 7 p.m. The Wednesday and Friday evening services will feature praise and worship, preaching, and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The Thursday evening session will be a time of praise and worship and personal ministry. The International Communication of the Charismatic Episcopal Church (ICCEC) was founded in 1992 with three churches. Now present on all but two continents, it numbers more than 1,000 churches with hundreds of thousands of members and is regarded as one of the fastest growing Christian bodies. The host church for the convocation, Christ the King, is on Ga. Hwy. 34 between Peachtree City and Newnan. Father David Epps is the pastor. For more information on the convocation, call 770-252-2428.
