Bad Links? | School sets fundraiser for teacherA kindergarten teacher at Crabapple Lane Elementary has been diagnosed with lung cancer and is in stage 4. Meg Smith has been out of work and in the hospital since spring break. The doctors removed a lung and some lymph nodes last week and they have told her that they were not able to get all of the cancer. It is also in the other lung and they are going to do some tests to see where else it has spread. She is also about 25 weeks pregnant with a little boy named Benjamin. The faculty, staff and PTO at Crabapple Lane are sponsoring a "Miles for Mrs. Smith" walk at the track behind the school Thursday all day until 2:15. Students are encouraged to earn money by doing chores for their donations and also to walk "Miles for Mrs. Smith" during their recess. Anyone in the community who would like to walk and/or donate to this cause is welcome to contact the office at Crabapple Lane Elementary. The phone number is 770-487-5425. |
