Bad Links? | Man charged in knife incidentBy LEE WILLIAMS An 18-year-old man faces a criminal charge for allegedly threatening a man with a steak knife outside of Stevie Bs restaurant on Ga. Highway 85. Aaron Jerome Edmondson of 3334 Summer Court Drive, Jonesboro, was charged with simple battery following the May 9 incident at the popular eatery. He was taken to the Fayette County Jail and released the next day after posting a $650 cash bond. Fayetteville police responded to Stevie Bs after receiving a call about a man wielding a knife. Upon arrival at the restaurant, officers spoke with Neal Mallam, 25, of Fayetteville who told police he witnessed an altercation involving Edmondson and Dennis Carver, 32, of Fayetteville. [Mallam] stated that he saw the offender follow two males out of the restaurant and into the parking lot, Fayetteville Police Department spokeswoman Lt. Beverly Trainor said. He stated that he then saw Edmondson arguing with one of the men and Edmondson then removed a knife from a vehicle and held the knife in a very threatening manner towards the man he was arguing with. Police retrieved a small steak knife with a wooden handle from Edmondsons vehicle, Trainor said. No one was injured during the altercation, Trainor said. It is unknown what the men were arguing about. |
