Bad Links? | Hundreds feel The Force in Fayette By MICHAEL J. THOMPSON Many came to see how it ended. Others came to see how it all began. Some even brought their own light sabers. Hundreds of Star Wars fans attended the midnight showing of "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" Thursday at Tinseltown in Fayetteville, to see the culmination of the series. The theater had three screens showing the film (six starting today) and each was filled to capacity. The anticipation of the third chapter in George Lucas epic six-episode space opera had many fans lining up hours before the film started to ensure a good seat. I bought my ticket three weeks ago, and have been waiting for this movie since I first saw Star Wars: Episode IV when I was younger, said Fayette High School senior Ryan Soto. He came dressed in an Anakin Skywalker costume, accenuated with a $120 light saber. I have tried not to read anything about the movie so everything I see will be new and the expericence wont be spoiled, he said. Soto was not the only fan who came in full Star Wars attire, as the Darth Vader costumes were ubiquitous throughout the theater lobby. Its amazing how people get into these movies, said Tyler Molleson, who came wielding a light saber, sans the costume. Im just ready to see how the first trilogy and these new movies mesh together; how Darth Vader comes into being, the Starrs Mill senior said. When the movie started, the familiar Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away..., was met with a thunderous applause. Two and a half hours later, the saga was over. Some fans cried, others left ready to watch Episode IV, V and VI. Watching the movie was like going back in time and being a kid again, said Clint Barbour, a Peacthree City resident. I may have to get up in two hours and go to work, but the chance to see this movie with friends and fanatics at midnight was amazing, he said. "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith, is rated PG-13.
