What do you think of this story? | Ballroom Dance Club celebrates two year anniversaryBallroom dancing is fun and its on everyones minds these days, particularly since Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez were moving about the dance floor in the recent movie, Shall We Dance? The Stardust Dance Club of Fayette County was formed two years ago through the efforts of local ballroom dance instructors, Tony and Kathy Paridon, and some of their enthusiastic dance students. Formation of the club was the obvious next step to ensure that everyone kept dancing and practicing. The club holds monthly dances in the gym at the Christ Church at Whitewater, 1577 Ga. Highway 85 South in Fayetteville. The dances are on Friday evenings from 8 to 11 p.m. and are usually held on the third Friday of the month. Couples age 15 years and older are welcome to attend. Light refreshments and soft drinks are served, no alcohol. The cost for attendance is $15 per couple at the door. Sign ups for the annual club memberships can also be handled at the door. To celebrate the clubs two year anniversary, the monthly dance for May is formal with music provided by the Lou Vallee Band. The dance is May 20 from 8 - 11 p.m. at the Christ Church at Whitewater. Beginners are always welcome. | |
