Bad Links? | Annual Kids Fun Run returns this weekendThe annual Peachtree City Kids Fun Run will take place on Saturday, May 21 at 9 a.m. in the Frederick Brown Amphitheater parking lot with registration beginning at 8 a.m. There will be runs for all ages, starting with a Tot Trot for ages 4 and under, 1K run for 5-6 year olds, and a 1 mile run for kids age 7-12. Registration forms are available race day. Refreshments will be provided to all runners and there are many door prizes donated by local merchants. There is no entry fee, but each child must present a registration form, signed by a parent or legal guardian. Awards will be made to the first place boy and girl in each age group and ribbons going to all participants. The runs will be held rain or shine. This year, participating schools have the opportunity to earn prize money thanks to financial incentives offered by the Peachtree City Running Club. The school with the highest percentage of their students participating will be awarded $500 for their school running program. The second-place team will win $450, third place $400, fourth place $350, and fifth place $300. All others with at least five percent of students participating will receive $250. A total of $4,000 is being made available by the PTC Running Club to promote both existing and new running programs in Fayette County elementary schools this year.
