Mt. Olive plans youth eventsIn preparation for Youth Day, and as part of the churchs Youth Month activities, members of Mt. Olive Baptist Church will celebrate the academic accomplishments of church youth with a free banquet at Bethune Elementary School, 5925 Old Carriage Dr. in College Park, Saturday, May 21, from 4-6 p.m. Keynote speaker will be Forrest Dabney, graduating senior from Sandy Creek High School. Sunday morning, May 22, will kick off Youth Day. Youth of the church will be in charge of morning worship services beginning with Sunday school at 9:50 a.m. Andre Davis, graduating senior from Mundys Mill High School, will be the keynote speaker. Celebration of the anniversary of the youth choir begins at 2:30 p.m. Mt. Olive also invites other youth groups in the community to perform vocal selections or inspirational dramatizations. Interested groups are asked to call the youth director at 770-486-6714. Youth Month events will culminate on Sunday, May 29, when the keynote speaker for the 11 a.m. worship service will be Brandice Ware, a senior at Sandy Creek High School. Members of the community are invited to attend and participate in all Youth Month activities. Mt. Olive Baptist is at 192 Graves Rd., Fayetteville.
