Hopewell UMC plans Chick-N-QueThe Methodist Men of Tyrones Hopewell United Methodist Church will hold their annual Chick-N-Que Saturday, May 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will be held on the church grounds, located on Jenkins Road, across from Sandy Creek High School. A chicken dinner plate will be available, consisting of half a barbecued chicken, with potato salad, baked beans, bread and iced tea, for $7. In addition to the chicken, this year the group will offer a rack of barbecued ribs for $15. Food will be prepared by Huckelberrys BBQ. The senior adult group, Recycled Kids, will sponsor a bake sale during the event. Proceeds from the Chick-N-Que will be used to sponsor other projects throughout the year, including support for the Atlanta Central Night Shelter in efforts to feed and shelter the homeless, contribution of supplies and volunteers to the Trinity United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen, and staging Hopewells Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival.
