Bad Links? | Starr’s Mill baseball advances to second round of AAAAA playoffsOne Riverdale parent remarked during the game that it had been 17 years since the Raiders had made the state playoffs. Their stay this year was not very long. Starr's Mill blanked Riverdale 10-0 in the first game and 12-0 in the second. All four Panther pitchers (Nick Terry, Blake Nation, Andrew Robinson and T.J. Stillwell) pitched strongly and the Starr's Mill bats were hot, scoring runs in nine of the 11 innings played. Kory Ison drove in three runs in the first game, with Ryan Lockett driving in two and the Panthers capitalizing on numerous walks and errors by the Raiders. In the second game, Joey Lewis hit a solo home run and drove in another run, while Kyle McCreary, Jimmy Tanner and Carter Scurry each drove in two. The Panthers will play again next Wednesday at home. Their opponent and game times have yet to be determined.
