Bad Links? | County using survey to develop plan By JOHN THOMPSON The first step in creating Coweta Countys new comprehensive plan is completed. Public Information Officer Tom Corker said the countys survey of residents is done, and hes quite pleased with the results. A total of 5,339 or seven percent of the adult population age 20 and above completed a survey showing how they wanted the county to develop. Marketing folks say that anything over two percent is a good result, Corker said. A breakdown of the survey shows 742 residents filled out paper surveys while 4,597 went online to the countys Web site and made their feelings known. Corker said the surveys will now be studied and the information turned over to JJG and URS to use as they compile the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Comprehensive Transportation Plan updates. He added the information received in the 11 Visioning Meetings held throughout the county will help guide the Vision Statements that will be coming out later this year. I want to thank each and every individual who took time to share their opinions so that this planning effort is truly built from the grassroots up, Corker said. |
