Witness the mayhem as Starrs Mill High Schools rendition of Rumors by Neil SImon comes to town. This wickedly funny comedy" is being performed at the Fayette Family YMCAs Chimneys Lodge May 11 through May 14 at 7 p.m. Directed by David Spearman, the show has been double cast with Cast A performing on Wednesday and Friday nights and Cast B performing on Thursday and Saturday nights. We have so many talented seniors. We wanted to give them all a chance to perform. Spearman explained, who went on to describe the lengthy run-throughs due to incessant laughter. Thats the sign of a classic comedy. Its funny every time you read through it. Soon after the curtain rises the dinner guests discover that there are no servants, the hostess is gone, and the host has shot himself through the earlobe. Comedy is very difficult to do. Spearman added. Comic timing is hard. You have to know why something is funny to make others laugh. The first couple to arrive are the Gormans, Charlies attorney and his wife. They try to cover up what has happened, but the story switches gears with each ensuing arrival. The show originally premiered in 1988 at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City garnering such comments as Its like the Marx Brothers meets Neil Simon. A hiliarous comedy in two acts.
