Bad Links? | Dodgeball a smashing success in PTCPardon the pun but the recent dodgeball tournament in Peachtree City was such a hit that there are even more dodgeball tournaments on the way. The first one, the Friday the ThirTEENth high school dodgeball tournament, will take place this Friday, May 13 from 6-9 p.m. at the Kedron Fieldhouse in Peachtree City. This competition will be a three on three, double elmination tournament and will have two divisions; junior varsity (freshmen and sophomores) and varsity (juniors and seniors). We are hoping that teams will get creative with their uniforms, said Youth and Teens Coordinator Art Siversten. We also hope that the fans will come in costume or that they will support their favorite teams name and theme. If there is time, it is hoped that the winners of each age group will play each other so a true High School Dodgeball Championship Team can be crowned. The entry deadline for this event will be on Thursday, May 12 at 9 p.m. The fee will be $25 per team for Fayette County Residents, and $37.50 for out of county teams. On Friday May 20, there will be another double elimination tournament. The three divisions will be 7-8th graders, adults ages 18-34 and adults 35 and up. Registration for this tournament begins on May 11. The fee is the same as the other tourney. The deadline to register will be Thursday, May 19 at 9 p.m. or when all spots are filled. The Peachtree City Youth Council is also looking for businesses to donate prizes for this event. Please contact Art at 770 486-3936 for more information on sponsorships and prize donations. If you need more information on either of these tournaments, please call the PTC Dodgeball Hotline at 678-364-6633 or email youth@peachtree-city.org. |
