The Housing Group wins Consumers’ Choice Award

The Housing Group was one of more than 100 Atlanta area companies to receive the 2005 Consumers’ Choice Award for business excellence. The award is based on a survey of residents and businesses in Atlanta responding to a questionnaire on customer satisfaction.

The survey was conducted by HarrisInteractive , a division of Harris Poll, a global leader in customer satisfaction studies. The award was presented at a gala event to be held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

The Consumers’ Choice Award, established in 1986 to identify and promote business excellence, utilizes a unique survey that asks consumers to choose the best of their city.

Respondents are randomly selected from both the business community and the general public. Based on the criteria of value, professionalism, service and any other issue they may wish to consider, respondents are asked to select the company that most merits the Consumers’ Choice Award for business excellence.

“It is very gratifying that The Housing Group has won the coveted Consumers’ Choice Award in the Custom Home Builders category,” said Mike Ray, president of the award-winning company. “To be chosen by consumers is particularly important because it reflects our continued and constant focus on our customers, and we appreciate the response they’ve given us. The Housing Group, which has its headquarters in Cumming, has just celebrated 25 years in the home building business. Building partners Michael C. Ray and James MacDowell run the business and together have more than 60 years' combined homebuilding experience. The company has been active in downtown Atlanta, East Atlanta, Decatur, and in the North, West and South metro counties. It has been responsible for building nearly 4,000 homes in metro Atlanta and has built in many of metropolitan Atlanta's most popular neighborhoods, including Windermere, Hamilton Mill, Windward, the Polo Fields, Crooked Creek, Candler Station, Stephens Mill in Buckhead, Chapel Hills Golf & Country Club and Peachtree City.

The company has won numerous local and national building awards, including gold and silver Professionalism Awards from the Greater Atlanta Home Builder's Association, and three national Best In American Living Awards.
