Gospel performers announced for May 27, 28 in GrantvilleRoy Smith, organizer of the monthly Southern Country Gospel Sings at the Grantville Depot, has announced the singers for the month of May. This is the second consecutive month in which Smith is scheduling two Gospel Sings, to be held on the fourth Friday and the fourth Saturday of the month. The event begins at 6 p.m. and usually lasts until about 9 p.m. There is no admission charge. The Friday, May 27, event will feature Heaven Bound II from Hogansville, Brides of Christ from Lanett, Ala., Gary Senay from Newnan, Changed 4 Ever from Franklin, Young Spirit from Manchester, Marie Bullock from Warm Springs, and Marshall White from Grantville. Artists for the Saturday, May 28, Sing will be Dean Stephens from Franklin, Mary Weldon from LaGrange, and the Christian - Aires from LaGrange. The Gospel Sings are held in the renovated Railroad Freight Depot on Main Street in Grantville, in southern Coweta County located at Exit 35 off I-85. The depot is adjacent to Colley Park and the seats are outside. Those attending may sit on the grass in the park, on their own chairs, or in their cars.
