Bad Links? | Fville man charged with injuring infant, 2 months oldBy LEE WILLIAMS Why? Thats what some residents are left to ponder after learning that a Fayetteville man faces charges for allegedly slamming a 2-month-old babys head to a door frame during a fit of rage, fracturing its skull. Adam Seth Brown, 20, of 160 Grandchester Way, was arrested May 4 and charged with one felony count of first-degree cruelty to children. He was released the next day after posting a $44,100 bond. The charge stems from an allegation Brown maliciously caused Addison Brown excessive physical pain by striking the childs head against a door frame, causing a skull fracture, according to Fayette County court records. The Fayette County Sheriffs Office Juvenile Investigators received notification via DFACS regarding a 2-month-old victim with evidence of alleged physical abuse, Fayette County Sheriffs Department spokeswoman Lt. Belinda McCastle said. The victim sustained a fractured skull, bruises on the back and under the eyes. Brown had his first appearance to answer the charge at 9 a.m. May 5. Fayette County Magistrate Court Judge Joe Tinsley agreed to release Brown on bail under the condition that Brown have no contact with baby Addison. Details regarding the babys medical condition were unavailable at press-time. |
