Bad Links? | WBAs Lightning start season with two winsThe Southern Crescent Lightning started their season the way they ended last season, with a win. The Lightning hosted the Carolina Heat at Starrs Mill High School on Friday night and won 136-130. The Heat had a one point lead after one quarter and the Lightning took a one point lead into the half, leading 61-60. the two teams continued to play even in the third quarter with both sides scoring 32 points. In the fourth quarter, the Lightning were able to separate themselves from the Heat by scoring 43 points to Carolinas 38. The Lightnings Bobby Brown led all scorers with 38 points, while teammates Alvin Pettyway and Jonathan Hargett chipped in 22 and 20 points respectively. Brown and Pettyway also had 10 rebounds a piece. and Pettyway added four blocks to his totals. Brandon Bender (18) and Jimmy Baxter (15) were also in double digits. The Lightning followed up Friday nights win with a 92-82 victory over the Gainesville Knights. The Southern Crescent Lightning will play at Magic City Court Kings on Saturday.
