Piedmont Fayette opens Womens Imaging CenterPiedmont Fayette Hospital recently opened the Womens Imaging Center, the first facility of its kind in Fayette County. The community is invited to an open house Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Womens Imaging Center located in the 1279 Building, Highway 54 West, Suite 120. The center provides a range of womens health services, including screening mammography, breast ultrasounds, diagnostic mammography, breast biopsies and bone density screenings. The Womens Imaging Centers mammography services are certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and accredited by the American College of Radiology. The Womens Imaging Center is committed to offering this community the quality breast-imaging services that are so important for early diagnosis and optimal treatment of breast cancer, said Debora Coursey-Prah, M.D., a board-certified radiologist and the medical director of womens imaging services at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Our standard of care is high, but we know that the little personal details and touches are important for patient comfort and trust. The centers team of board certified radiologists, specialized technologists, patient representatives and support personnel are committed to providing compassionate care. On-site schedulers also will be in the center to conveniently arrange your next appointment as necessary. The hospitals Auxiliary contributed $100,000 to the Womens Imaging Center to create a welcoming ambiance, including artwork and décor as well as blanket and gown warmers for the comfort of patients.
