Bad Links? | Sweat named Principal of YearStarrs Mill High principal Sam Sweat has been named the 2005 Principal of the Year for the Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals (GASSP). As Georgias principal of the year, he will represent the state in the national principal of the year competition sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and MetLife. The winner will be announced March 2006 in New Orleans during the associations annual convention. The principal of the year program recognizes outstanding secondary principals who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, commitment to students and staff, service to their communities and contributions to the overall profession of educational leadership. Sweat has served as principal of Starrs Mill since 1999. During his five years at the school, Starrs Mill has been recognized as a State School of Excellence, one of Newsweek Magazines top high schools in the country for achievement and participation in Advanced Placement (AP) classes and one of the top 42 high schools in the nation in overall quality of educational programs. |
