Parks & Mottola reps complete contract courseLisle Bowers, Parks Cole, Leslie Downs, Denise Franks, and Julie Jones, real estate sales agents with Newnan-based Parks & Mottola Realtors, recently completed a continuing education course on the new Georgia Association of Realtors contracts. Parks & Mottola office manager Sandy Holloway also attended the 3-hour program. Holloway is a licensed real estate salesperson. Presented by the Newnan-Coweta Board of Realtors and taught by Seth G. Weissman, the course was held at the Newnan Campus of the State University of West Georgia. Weissman is the GARs legal counsel. He has practiced real estate law for more than 30 years. Recently the standard sales contracts used by all GAR-member/agents were given a complete overhaul. As a result, the contract grew from 5 pages to 7 pages. The course helped walk agent through the new contracts. We went page-by-page, said Jones. We started at the back and worked our way to the front, covering the differences between the old contract and the new one. The Parks & Mottola agents and staff who attended praised Weissmans straightforward, easy-to-understand delivery of new material that might otherwise have proven confusing. Bowers is a veteran sales agent at Parks & Mottola. Cole and Jones are associate brokers with the company. Jones also holds the Graduate Realtors Institute designation. Downs is vice president of membership of the Coweta Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors. Franks is a member of the Newnan-Coweta Board of Realtors. Holloway is Parks & Mottolas long-time office manager, having worked for the firm for most of its 20 years of business.
