Bad Links? | Senoia Speedway hosts hot night of racingIn the Georgia Asphalt Series (GAS) 100 lap feature, Roger Delp started the event from the pole of the impressive twenty car field. Caution came out before the field could complete the first lap when Fredrick Moore was involved in an incident on the back straight-away. Moore took his damaged machine into the pits for repairs and returned to competition. Ronnie Sanders took over the lead on lap three, followed by Delp, Kevin Stephens and Korey Ruble. Sanders would continue to run a consistent race with Stephens pressuring him for the lead. On lap 80, Stephens was able to successfully dive low on the speedway and take the lead, followed by: Sanders, Delp and Bubba Pollard. As the event entered the final five laps, Ronny Kittle made a run toward the front and began to pressure Sanders for the second place position with Sanders refusing to give up the position. Stephens would maintain the led and take the win, recording his first GAS 100 lap feature event win of the 2005 race season at Senoia Speedway. In the Aarons Pro Challenege 50 lap special event, Terry Mathis led the event from flag-to-flag to take the win. The event was slowed by several cautions, one of which occurred as the field took the green flag on the first lap with as many as nine machines involved in a crash as they entered turn one. Mathis would maintain the lead and take the win. In other feature races at Senoia Speedway, Darrell Banks won the Bandolero feature, Travis Hearn took top honors in the Sportsman event, Mike Davidson took the Iceman feature, Larry Pierce won the Street Stock event with Doug Ludwig taking top honors in the Legends Pro feature. |
