Theft: Jason Watson, 29, of Jonesboro, an employee of Jiffy Lube, 360 N. Glynn St., reported someone stole $125.11 in cash from the business. Theft: John Rolland Bush, 29, of Ashley Court, Jonesboro, reported someone stole a JVC Satellite Radio, valued at $200, from his white 1997 Jeep Wranger. Joyride: Luis Alvaro Montes, 17, of Belle Drive, Fayetteville, reported a juvenile took his maroon 1993 Nissan Pathfinder for a spin without his permission and damaged the vehicle. The sports-utility vehicle sustained $3,000 in damage. Theft: Kathryn B. Cox, 40, of Brookhaven Drive, Peachtree City, reported someone stole her wallet while she was shopping at PetSmart, 101 Pavilion Parkway. The wallet contained items with a combined value of $600. Peachtree City Police Dept. Golf cart thefts: The department is investigating recent golf cart thefts from the area of Gable Court Apartments. Both carts have been recovered and several items of interest located. Grass fire: At 11:45 a.m. March 30, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a grass fire at 1954 W. 54 Highway. Lightning strike: At 8:06 a.m. March 31, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to 135 Haddock Path after lightning struck the location. No fire was reported. Downed power lines: At 10:10 a.m. April 1, Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to downed power lines at 143 Mann Road. Hazardous material release: At 6:56 p.m. March 29, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 85 and North 85 Parkway to investigate a report of hazardous material being released into the air. Downed power lines: At 12:39 p.m. March 29, Fayetteville firefighters responded to 900 Ga. Highway 54 East to investigate a complaint of downed power lines. Lightning strike: At 8:33 a.m. March 31, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a report of a lightning strike at the Fayette County 911 Communications Center, 101 Volunteer Way. Structure fire: At 10:58 a.m. April 5, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a structure fire at 170 White Hall Place. The department assisted Fayette County fire and emergency crews. Peachtree City fire and rescue crews also responded. The fire broke out in the bedroom and started from a device that is used to charge batteries. Fire crews confined the blaze to the bedroom. The blaze caused $25,000 in damage. Brush fire: At 5:20 p.m. April 5, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a brush fire at 175 Pointer Ridge Trail. The department assisted Fayette County fire and emergency crews. Gas spill: At 6:50 a.m. April 6, Fayetteville firefighters responded to a gas spill at Glynn Street and East Stonewall Avenue. Fire crews removed hazard from the location. From March 28-April 6: the Fayetteville Fire Department received to 51 calls for help. Peachtree City Fire and Rescue Golf cart accident: At 7:26 p.m. March 29, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a golf cart accident at Aberdeen Parkway and Riley Parkway. Firefighters and EMS personnel checked for injuries. Structure fire: At 8:15 p.m. March 30, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported structure fire at 625 Wheatleigh Curve. The resident reported the smell of smoke. Firefighters could not find any reason for the smell. Thermal Imagers were used. The residence was turned back to occupant. Structure Fire: At 8:35 a.m. March 31, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported structure fire at 121 Calloway Crossing. Residence reported the smell of smoke following a lighting strike near the residence. Firefighters checked the entire house for fire and found none. Fire alarm: At 5:37 p.m. March 31, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a fire alarm at 610 Graystone Court. The alarm was false and was caused by malfunction. Structure Fire: At 10:17 p.m. March 31, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a structure fire at 310 Foreston Place. Residents reported a burning smell in the house. Firefighters found a lampshade had melted over a light bulb causing a burning odor. Downed power lines: At 2:15 p.m. April 2, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to downed power lines at Paschall and railroad crossing. Units responded, checked for immediate danger and contacted the power company. Controlled Burn: At 11:25 a.m. April 9, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported fire at 1103 Peachtree Parkway North. A commercial burn was in progress, but all regulations were being followed and permits were in order. Accident: At 1:21 p.m. April 9, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a vehicle accident at 2717 Highway 54. Firefighters and EMS personnel checked for injuries. Two patients were transported by ambulance to the hospital. Fire alarm: At 9:16 p.m. April 9, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a fire alarm at 620 Crosstown Road. The alarm was false and was caused by accidental activation. Controlled burn: At 5:34 p.m. April 10, Peachtree City Fire/Rescue personnel and equipment responded to a reported fire at 1110 Montclair Drive. The resident extinguished the fire.
