Auto basics class is Sat.

An auto basics class is being offered this Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Fayette County Community School in the Lafayette Educational Center in Fayetteville.

New drivers can learn how to handle auto emergencies such as changing a flat tire, jump starting a dead battery and locking your keys in the car, as well as all of the regular maintenance checks to keep your car in good shape and all about of the car's operating systems and how to recognize problems.

The class meets all requirements for Scouting Merit Badges and includes a hands-on clinic with each student's car. The cost is $35.
