Bad Links? | Waffle House patrons robbed in parking lotBy LEE WILLIAMS Two Waffle House customers chatting in the parking lot are the latest victims to fall prey to money-hungry teen robbers. Three armed males approached two males who were sitting in the restaurant parking lot talking at 700 Glynn St. about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. The three suspects pointed handguns at the victims while demanding that the victims give them their wallets and money, Fayetteville Police spokeswoman Lt. Beverly Trainor said Friday in a prepared statement. The victims handed over their wallets and were not injured during the incidents. The three teens then scampered off toward Big Lots, authorities say. The suspects remain at large and officials are asking for the publics help to round up the alleged robbers. One suspect is described as a light-skinned black male about 15 to 18 years old with a low-fade haircut, thin mustache and a smooth complexion. He was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt, baggie pants and a black baseball cap bearing the New York Yankees logo. The second suspect is described as a black male about 15 to 18 years old. Wednesdays incident marks the fourth armed robbery at a business in roughly the last four months. No arrests in the cases have been reported. A masked man armed with a pocket knife attempted to rob Subway on Ga. Highway 54 West near Gingercake Road March 13. The fast-food workers, startled by the request, ran into the back room. Their actions might have foiled the robbers effort. He left the store without taking a dime. Two gunmen robbed Burger King on Glynn Street Feb. 9. The suspects got away with $1,000 in cash. A brazen suspect allegedly robbed the GNC vitamin store on Pavilion Parkway in broad daylight Dec. 7. The suspect tied an employee up with a cell phone charger cord and ran after scooping up an undetermined amount of cash. |
