Bad Links? | I-85 work continuesBy BEN NELMS Work on I-85 in South Fulton is set to continue over the weekend if the weather cooperates. And cooperation will be the order of the day, more like throughout the weekend, for those traveling in both directions south of I-285. Georgia Dept. of Transportation (DOT) Media Relations representative Karlene Barron advised that the two right lanes of I-85 South just south of Flat Shoals Road and continuing to Ga. Highway 138 will be closed for resurfacing beginning at 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. The Flat Shoals entrance ramp and the Hwy. 138 exit ramp will remain open during the lane closures. Northbound travelers will also experience traffic delays during the same period. Construction work between Ga. Highway 74 and I-285 will result in a two to three-mile interval lane closure along the northbound stretch. Construction updates and additional information can be obtained at the DOT NaviGAtor website, www.georgia-navigator.com. Construction information can also be obtained 24 hours a day by calling (888) 419-4368. |
