Bad Links? | Martinis to sling chilled drinks at amphitheater By JOHN MUNFORD The Peachtree City Tourism Association met last week in a special called meeting to approve a contract for Martinis, a local bar, provide concessions at the summer concert series at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater this season. Association Executive Director Linda McCarthy said she is encouraging the use of subcontractors to provide some food for the event, but she noted that one of the biggest sellers is popcorn. Patrons are allowed to bring in their own food and drink, but this year Martinis will offer frozen drinks such as margaritas and daiquiris. Obviously, those types of drinks are hard if not impossible to pack for a concert, and the amphitheater wants to provide more concessions along those lines, McCarthy said. Martinis owner James Adduci said he was looking forward to working with the amphitheater, and McCarthy noted he has experience with food service in addition to beverage service. Drinks will be served from a partially-enclosed bar area that has closed-circuit TV so patrons in line can keep an eye on the on-stage action, McCarthy said. |
