Robert and Joanne Johnson of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Johnson, to James Chambers, son of John Chambers of Bournemouth, England, and the late Anne Chambers.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Leone Lee Johnson of Peachtree City and the late Clarence Johnson, and Agnes Jankowski and the late Edwin Jankowski of Milwaukee, Wis. A graduate of Franklin High School, Franklin, Wis., she attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and was graduated from the State University of West Georgia where she majored in education. She is a trainer with Bank of America.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Annie Howie Chambers and William Chambers of Leicester, England, and Audrey Walton and the late Richard Walton, also of Leicester. He is a graduate of Loughborough Grammar School, Loughborough, England. He was graduated from Bournemouth University where he majored in hotel management. He currently is a hotel manager for Marriott International in Atlanta.
The wedding will be April 29, 2005, in Marco Island, Fla. The couple will honeymoon in Europe.
Tidwell-Dorris
Jerry Lynn Tidwell and Nathan Todd Dorris announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Charles Alton Tidwell of Columbiana, Ala. She attended Auburn University and has a degree in paralegal studies. She is currently employed with a law firm in Birmingham, Ala.
The prospective groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Alan Leslie Dorris of Peachtree City. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech and completed his Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering at Auburn University in December, 2004. He is now employed with the family business in Atlanta.
The wedding will be April 23, 2005, at 5 p.m. at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham.
Murphy-Hudson
Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Murphy of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Christall Murphy, to Christopher Earl Hudson, son of Earl Hudson and Marsha and Wayne Hogan of Cleveland, Ga.
The bride-to-be, daughter of the late Deborah Murphy of Hiawassee, is the granddaughter of Mike and Ginny Haygood of Destin, Fla., and Lena and Calvin Murphy of Seabring, Fla. She is a 1998 graduate of Town County High School in Hiawassee. She received a bachelor of science degree in middle grades education from North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega. She currently is an English teacher at White County Middle School and is working on her masters degree in elementary education.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Glen and Lois Hogan. He is a 1998 graduate of White County High School and currently works as a supervisor at On-site Communications.
The wedding will be Nov. 19, 2005, at the Sharp Memorial Chapel on the campus of Young Harris College.
A dinner/dance reception at Fieldstone Resort in Hiawassee will be held following the ceremony.
