What do you think of this story? | April is national Poetry MonthTo celebrate, on Monday, Apr. 11, at 7 p.m., Clayton College & State Universitys Poetrypalooza will hold its second annual evening of readings by Clayton State faculty and staff, along with the celebratory launch of the second edition of Clayton States Cygnet magazine. Both events will take place in room 132 of the Universitys Arts & Sciences Building. Each Clayton State employee, be they faculty, staff or administration, will be given five minutes each to impress the audience with their poetic sides. The Clayton State School of Arts & Sciences yearly literary arts magazine, Cygnet debuted last spring, featuring works by current Clayton State students. Published both in soft cover and electronically, Cygnet is also archived on the Clayton State website and in the School of Arts and Sciences annals. Cygnet refers to a small swan and honors the beautiful feathered muses that inhabit Sawn Lake on the Clayton State campus. The mission of the magazine is to encourage creative writing and art by providing a forum for artists and writers to display their works. | |
