Sterrett returns to FFBC with his Sermon on the MountExpert horse trainer Lew Sterrett will return to Fayetteville First Baptist Church April 17 for another presentation of his Sermon on the Mount, which draws parallels between horse training and human relationships to God. The presentation will be held at 4 p.m. Sterrett also will speak at the 8:25 and 11:05 a.m. services. Sterrett will work with horses which are in various stages of training, showing how they can go from resistant to willing using guidance to build trust. He will use the horses behavior to draw parallels to how we relate to God, a spokesperson said. Using relationship-based training methods, he will take a horse from a place of distrust toward the trainer to one of submission by slowly building up a relationship through guidance. He will do this while sharing how we are to move similarly into a more obedient relationship with God. You will see the horses make changes in their thinking that mirror changes we are to make in our life decisions. Fayetteville First Baptist Church is at 205 Stonewall Ave. (Ga. Hwy. 54 East), about a block from the Fayette County Courthouse. For more information about the presentation or other ministries at First Baptist, call the church office, 770-461-8378. |
