Brendan Hall picked up the win, throwing a complete game four hitter. Hall struck out eight batters and walked three and also provided the lion share of the Chiefs offense in the win. Hall went 3-for-4 at the plate with a grand slam home run. He drove in six of the Chiefs eight runs. Trevor Pippin hit a home run and Tyson Sandlin drove in the other run for McIntosh. Other Chiefs getting key hits in the game were Dustin Hirschfeld, Sam Hogan, Drew Webb and Tyler Harris. The Chiefs followed the Northgate win with an 11-1 win over Creekside on Wednesday. The game ended in five innings with McIntosh scoring three runs in the first with RBI from trevor Pippin and Nolan Ivie and three more runs in the second with more RBI coming from Pippin and Dustin Hirschfeld. Andrew McFarland drove in a run in the third inning, while Drew Webb and Ivie drove in three in the fourth before Sam Hogan added the final run in the fifth inning. Pippin drove in five runs on the day, while Tyson Sandlin went 2-for-3 at the plate with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Zach fallon was the winning pitcher for the Chiefs, allowing one hit and striking out five batters. McIntosh will play at Chapel Hill tonight at 5:30 p.m. and will host Douglas County on Monday at 5:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Sandy Creek defeated Whitewater 12-0 in five innings. Chad Brooks took the mound for Sandy Creek and pitched a perfect game. Brooks did not allow a runner on base and had eight strikeouts in the win. Justin Carpenter was the pitcher for Whitewater and kept the Patriots off the board until the third inning. Carpenter and Brooks both struck out the side in the second inning. Offensively, Chris Vazquez, a ninth grader playing in his third varsity game, once again generated some offense for the Patriots. He went 3-for-3 at the plate, driving in one run with two singles and a double. Catcher Kal Cudsik drove in two runs, as did Tyler Betsill and Phillip Sims. Vazquezs brother, Carlos, drove in a run, as did Blake Morgan. Our hitting has picked up and we played well on defense, said Coach Eddy Householder. Householder felt his team played well as a whole but also gave credit to Chris Vazquez. It was the second time in three games that he has gone 3-for-3 at the plate. He really has provided a spark for the team. Householder also praised Brooks, who has been consistent on the mound for Sandy Creek. Sandy Creek will play at Haralson County tonight at 5:30 and will host Lithia Springs a 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Whitewater will play at Douglas County tonight at 5:30 p.m. and will host Villa Rica at 4 p.m. on Monday. Other upcoming games include Landmark Christian hosting Eagles Landing Christian Academy tonight at 4:30 p.m. and Our Lady of Mercy hosting Landmark at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Fayette County hosts Lovejoy tonight at 7 p.m. and will play at East Coweta on Monday at 5:30 p.m. Starrs Mill plays at Union Grove tonight at 7 p.m. and will play at Collins Hill tomorrow at 2 p.m. They will host Mundys Mill at 1 p.m. on Monday. |
