Bad Links? | Zaxbys headed to FairburnBy BEN NELMS Motorists traveling on Ga. Highway 74 and I-85 will have another culinary option once the Zaxbys Restaurant gets off the ground. Fairburn council members approved the site plan for the restaurant at its March 28 meeting. Laying out the proposal for council members, city administrator Jim Williams said plans call for the restaurant to be located at the southeast corner of Hwy.74 and Oakley Industrial Boulevard, just south of I-85. The property is an out-parcel subdivision of the Green Oil Truck Stop, he said. The 3,543 square-foot restaurant will seat 90 people, with parking for 50 vehicles. The restaurant will be situated on 1.37-acres and will have two access points from the truck stop property, Williams said. City planning staff recommended approval of the site plan with the understanding that the project will be subject to the standards and policies in the Hwy. 74 Overlay District and the requirements of Fairburns new Land Subdivision Regulations and Land Development Standards. Additionally, a landscape plan will be prepared by landscape architect and approved by the city prior to occupancy. Fairburns Planning Commission approved the site plan at its March 1 meeting. |
