Bad Links? | Teens nabbed for robbery By LEE WILLIAMS Three Peachtree City teens are in custody at a youth detention center in Clayton County after they allegedly robbed another teen at gunpoint on the golf cart path Monday night. No one was hurt during the incident, although the teens, who reportedly lived in Harmony Village, reportedly wrestled the other teen out of his wallet and cellular telephone and fled into the apartment complex. Peachtree City officers responded to the complex about 8:30 p.m. after the armed robbery was reported. Initial officers at the scene were advised that an unknown male subject, dressed in black clothing, had brandished a pistol on the cart path, Peachtree City Police Chief James Murray said in a prepared statement. The suspect approached three juveniles and held one at gunpoint while the others fled. Police indicated the armed robbery was orchestrated to take money from one of the teens. Three juveniles, ages 14, 15, and 16, were arrested and charged in connection with the crimes. The suspects were taken to the youth detention center and are awaiting their day in Juvenile Court. The golf cart paths recently have become a hotbed for suspicious activity. The Peachtree City Fire Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading up to the arrest of the person responsible for setting suspicious brush and trash fires along the golf cart paths. Most of the fires have been started in the Glenloch Village area. The Peachtree City Police Department also is offering a $1,000 reward for information regarding the rash of suspicious grass fires.
