Bad Links? | Students earn awards for language skillsFayettes middle and high school students earned a combined 31 ribbons at the annual Spoken Language Contest sponsored by the Foreign Language Association of Georgia. Over 600 students from across Georgia competed March 5 at Peachtree Ridge High School in Gwinnett. The contest evaluates language students on their ability to communicate in the target language by conversation with an interviewer. Interviews last five to 10 minutes, depending on the students language level. Latin students competed in an oratorical contest, reciting passages that commensurate with their level of study. Students earn ribbons of Superior, Excellent and Notable. Students earning ribbons are as follows: Flat Rock Middle - Hannah Gaxioli, Superior French I; Emma Kearney, Excellent French I. Rising Starr Middle - Armand Kadkhodaian, Excellent Spanish I; Emma Clarke, Superior Spanish I.
