Bad Links? | Buses get green light from stateOnce a year Fayettes school buses undergo a mandatory state inspection to make sure there are no mechanical defects that could compromise the safety of students. Inspector Barbara Cox with the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety conducted this years inspection and stated the countys buses are in excellent condition. These buses are in good shape and it shows. The bus shop works hard to maintain its fleet, the inspections reflect it, she said. The bus shop, headed by George Davis, provides maintenance for the countys 250 buses as well as performs mechanical inspections every 20-30 days. Cox also noted that Fayette has one of the best-maintained fleets in the state. In fact, School Bus Magazine named Fayettes bus shop in the top 10 bus fleets for 2003. |
