Bad Links? | Chiefs get two big wins, now rankedBy MICHAEL BOYLAN The McIntosh boys lacrosse team is gaining a reputation and, after picking up wins against a physical North Springs team and the sixth ranked Wesleyan team, are now ranked eighth in the state by www.laxpower.com. McIntosh hosted North Springs on Saturday and won 16-5. Kevin Katerndahl had a hat trick in both goals and assists, while Sean Griffin and Brian Rosetti each added four goals and David Dye had three goals and an assist. Griffin also added six assists while Rosetti chipped in one. Madsion Seward had a goal and 10 face off wins and goalie Dan Griffin made 11 key saves in the win. McIntosh was up 9-3 at the half and capitalized on a number of North Springs penalties. The Chiefs defense of Cameron Reno, Patrick Cheney and Brad Plunket also played strongly. Against Wesleyan on Tuesday night, the Chiefs scored in the first minute of the game and often led by more than three goals. Leading 11-8 with three minutes left, Wesleyan scored three goals in a row to tie the game and force an overtime. In the second sudden death overtime Patrick Schenider won the face off with Katerndahl scoring. Katerndahl had two goals, with Rosetti scoring six, Dye adding two and Otaki and Seward adding a goal a piece. Griffin had 34 saves in the game, while Schenieder had two assists and five face off wins. Sean Griffin had six assists and Brian Huefner added one. McIntosh will now be on the road with games at Walton on Monday and at Centennial on Thursday. |
