Bad Links? | ASCAPA scholarships available for fallThe Atlanta Southern Crescent Alumnae Panhellenic Association is pleased to announce the offering of two $500 cash scholarships to be awarded to two female high school students and residents of the Southern Crescent area (defined as the counties of Fayette, Coweta, Clayton, Henry, Spalding and the cities of South Fulton County) who will attend accredited four-year colleges in the fall of 2005. Past ASCAPA winners include Alison Fincher from Henry County High School in 2003 (only one scholarship was awarded that year), and Tara Buehler and Jordan Worrall, both from McIntosh High School, in 2004. The ASCAPA Scholarship Committee will select the two scholarship recipients on the basis of scholastic and personal achievement, contributions to the community, and leadership potential. Information packets and applications have been sent to the counselor's offices of all high schools in the Southern Crescent area. Applications are also available at www.southerncrescentalumpanhel.org. ASCAPA is an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young women across Georgia, especially in the Southern Crescent area. The association supports local community social service projects, such as Baby Peaches and the Women's Success Network, with donations of money and material goods. The association also promotes Greek life in Georgia and across the country. The association is affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference, which was founded in 1902 and is an umbrella organization for 26 inter/national women's fraternities and sororities. Each member group is autonomous as a social, Greek-letter society of college women and alumnae. Members are represented on over 620 college and university campuses in the United States and Canada and in over 4,600 alumnae associations, making up over 3.6 million sorority women in the world.
