Bad Links? | Assault complaint takes strange turnPeachtree City police were forced to scratch their heads in wonderment after they were called to investigate the complaint of a man who alleged he was drugged and sexually assaulted by his brother-in-law. The man at the center of the complaint declined to file a report initially, but later agreed to file a report after he was released from the hospital, authorities said. At midnight March 12, a registered nurse for Piedmont Fayette Hospital told police a male admitted himself to the Emergency Room claiming his brother-in-law sexually assaulted him. But when pressed for details, his account of the ordeal changed. The nurse said the subject said the incident first took place in Newnan, but later advised it occurred in Peachtree City. Police questioned the alleged victim further. The 34-year-old Sharpsburg man said he went to the Hampton Inn to play cards with a friend. He said he and his brother-in-law occupied the room while waiting on two women to arrive. He told police that with his permission his brother-in-law allegedly injected a substance that he believed would cure his erectile dysfunction. The Coweta County man said he became dizzy and woke up a few hours later on the floor. The man then noticed there was semen in his mouth, the nurse told police. When asked to complete a statement form, the man began to change his story, according to authorities. The man later alleged the two women were present when he received the shot. He then began to ask police about the symptoms of methamphetamines. The man then told police he could not recall what happened or see what he was writing due to the effects of medication the hospital supplied. Police conferred with the nurse, who confirmed the man tested positive for methamphetamines and has tested positive when admitted in the past. Lee Williams |
